A place shaped by centuries of skilled making
Metrica’s story begins in Münster, Germany, where a 17th-century workshop operated within a region known for skilled craftsmanship and material knowledge. At the time, making was closely tied to place, with techniques and standards shaped by local resources, training and tradition. These conditions formed the foundation of how work was approached and understood.
Over time, the practice expanded beyond its local setting, carrying forward methods refined through daily use and shared experience. The influence of regional German craftsmanship remains visible today, informing how materials are selected, details are realised and quality is assessed across projects of increasing scale and complexity.
While Metrica now works internationally across superyachts, residences and custom furniture, its origins remain rooted in this regional context. The emphasis on proportion, material behaviour and careful execution reflects traditions established centuries ago and adapted through experience rather than theory. Origins at Metrica are not symbolic. They continue to inform practical decisions made in workshops and on site today, grounding contemporary work in a clearly defined place and history.
